A man kills his wife and 2 children at Kakamega

A man ran amok and killed his wife and two children in Kakamega East District, western Kenya Tuesday.
The incident in Lukose village left many stunned as to what could have led the 30-year-old to turn on his family.
According to his father, Alphonce Muchira, the man returned home at about 2 pm and dragged his wife Margaret and her two children, aged 3 and 5 from their semi-permanent house and slashed them to death using a machete.
His sister in law, who tried to respond to the distress call was also slashed and is hospitalised at the Shinyalu District Hospital.
Mr Muchira said he rushed to the compound but his son warned him of dire consequences.
"I tried to plead with my son and asked him what had gone wrong but he told me he was ready to kill me like he had done to his wife and children," he sad.
All the three had their throats slit.
He described his son a s a reserved person but sometimes suffered epileptic fits .

The suspect worked as a casual labourer and had not complained of any problem with his wife before the incident.
Grief striken villagers wailed at the compound after viewing the three bodies that were lying next to each other.
Some of them said they saw the attacker running towards River Lukose and they suspected he could have jumped in to the river and swam across in a bid to evade arrest.
Police from Kakamega took away the bodies and said that they were investigating the bizzare killings.
